Education to the Rescue for Old Dishes
We have 4 new Dishes that will need some work, but will be able to be used for World Moon Bounce Day. These dishes are basically unused at this time and the opportunity to turn these antennas back into working systems that can be used for education is an obvious benefit created by World Moon Bounce Day.
The dishes will be announced when we have confirmation of their tchnical capability, but they are located at:
Sydney – 4.5m (16ft) and 6m (20ft) and 10m (33ft)
Canberra – 10m (33ft)
At the heart of this exercise will be the opportunity to have these dishes made operational again and used for education. It is a green exercise at heart as these would go to the scrap heap if not used. Replacing them with new dishes would then be justified later when a new need arose. Keeping these working will save money and give them a longer lifetime of useful service.
If you have a old dish that might be useful, let us know. 4.5m
