Video. Recently I responded to comments from a SpaceAmerica story titled: Opinion: What Should NASA Do? They wrote: Admit the truth about the moon, admit there’s more planets out there than they say there is [sic], and certainly admit that previous astronauts have seen other worldly beings.. plus reveal the true pictures of the moon and mars.. This is opinion is certainly the other side of the coin to what I know so I took on the challenge of responding. It is not likely to be believed, but none the less, it deserved a rational response: "I'm not sure if you are being serious, but let me offer the following for those that think it is a conspiracy: [...]

The Edge of our Universe. Today on Facebook, I was asked in a comment on a story about what is outside the edge of our universe. The comment was such a great comment that I needed to publish it here. It is something that I also struggled with for many years when I started to try and understand the nature of the universe some years back - too many to actually state! Here is the comment: "Of course space is infinite. If it stopped somewhere, there would have to be something beyond that, wouldn't there?" So what is the story here? It is impossible to prove. We can only speculate, but there is some good reason to imagine... [...]

Stark warning emerges from science summit. VANCOUVER, Canada (AFP) Tuesday, 21 February 2012. A stark theme emerged from an annual scientific get-together in Vancouver: the world must be helped to believe in science again or it could be too late to save our planet. Science is "under siege," top academics and educators were warned repeatedly at the American Association for the Advancement of Science meeting as they were urged to better communicate their work to the public.
Today I will post a letter from a Facebook Friend named Jim. Jim has an open mind, but that openness is an easy target for the dark side of the Internet. If we can't educate our kids about science, we at least need to educate them to identify the good and the bad on the Internet. Now Jim is no spring chicken, so the Internet just arrived and bit him for all it was worth. I expect Jim spends time researching everything he can. He came to me with a real question about Niribu - the fabled planet supposedly destined to slam into earth next year. Jim is a smart inquisitive man (Jim or course is not his real name) and he has done the next best thing - he has asked someone that may help him with facts [...]

Echoes of Apollo (EOA) is a 2 person operation. Pat Barthelow and myself, Robert Brand got together just 2 years ago to celebrate the 40th anniversaries of the Apollo missions and to stimulate space outreach and education. Both of us are amateur radio operators and so it seemed obvious. World Moon Bounce Day (WMBD) was formed - well it's more like a weekend. We have had distinguished guests and even had the participation of Arecibo as we spoke to people all over the world by bouncing radio signals off the moon like a mirror. [...]
